Welcome to Sunny Days Montessori, Frankfield, Douglas, Cork

Sunny Days Montessori School Frankfield Cork

At Sunny Days Montessori School, we are committed to providing a pre-school service of the highest standard.

Our trained, motivated and friendly staff are the cornerstone of our preschool and we encourage a strong teamwork approach to help build and support our shared objectives, and are committed to equal opportunity in employment.

Sunny days provides an excellent service for up to 45 children and aims to provide the perfect environment for children to develop their social, personal and educational skills and learn through a Montessori curriculum.

Above all, your child’s welfare and your peace of mind is most important to us. We provide a warm, loving, home-from-home environment, where each child is treated with respect and will develop and learn as individuals while feeling safe and secure. We are notified to and inspected by Tusla – The Child and Family Agency.

Our Mission Statement

Sunny days Montessori School is structured towards the progression of young children’s welfare and education. The mission goals are reached by providing a safe comfortable and happy environment. Children are encouraged to reach their full potential physically, mentally, socially and emotionally through Montessori equipment and games.

The staff of the school undertake these goals and through professionalism and experience provide the children with a valuable platform for life after their preschool days.

We run as a sessional Montessori school service along the normal school calendar year, and our classes have a daily and monthly routine with options for Summer Camps during July and August. We operate 3 different classes;  Ducklings (from 8:45am to 11:45am), Ladybirds (from 8:45am to 12:15pm) and Caterpillars (from 12:30pm to 3:30pm).

We are a Montessori school that incorporates many teaching philosophies like Highscope and respects the importance of play. We provide the Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) scheme, the National Childcare Scheme (NCS), and also provide for fee paying childcare for those not eligible for either scheme.

We are registered with the HSE, the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth (DCEDIY), and the Department of Education and Skills (DES); all of whom inspect us annually.

We are also registered with St. Nicholas Montessori Ireland, the Association of Childcare Professionals, Barnardos, and we hold insurance with Arachas Insurance.

All our staff hold a minimum of Level 6 Childcare qualification with some staff members holding degrees, masters and many extra qualifications in special needs etc, and all our staff are fully vetted and all hold first aid qualifications as well.

"The most important period of life is not the age of university studies but the first one. the period from birth to the age of six."
